The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences is a not-for-profit regional organization, one of the Arab Organizations for Joint Action, owned by the League of Arab States, and enjoys full diplomatic status, financial and administrative independence. It was established in 1988 and headquartered in Amman/ Jordan. The Arab Academy is a member of the Association of Arab Universities, the International Association of Universities, the Federation of Arab Research Councils, the Arab Federation of Technical Education, EBTN, and other international academic and professional organizations.


The Arab Academy runs five colleges in Amman, Karak (Jordan), Cairo (Egypt), Damascus (Syria) and Sana'a (Yemen), in addition to two training institutes (Amman & Cairo), and branches in Beirut, Sana'a, Damascus, Muscat, and Tripoli.


The Academy delivers its services to Arab banks, financial institutions and markets, companies, Governmental agencies and individuals in all sectors. It participates actively in the efforts dedicated towards the development of human resources and the enhancement of the academic, professional and technical levels of Arab banks and institutions, in line with the objectives of Arab economic, scientific and technical cooperation and integration. Emphasis is laid down especially on the following areas, in accordance with its Charter:

  • Development and upgrading of the academic, professional and administrative human resources of Arab banks and institutions, and deliver various teaching curricula demanded by the Arab labour market.

  • Ensure the required banking, financial and managerial training for Arab banks and the enhancement of the standards of applied training curricula.

  • Improve the standards of teaching curricula of the banking, financial, managerial and economic studies.

  • Dissemination of banking, financial, managerial and economic culture and awareness through research and publication.

  • Delivery of consultancy services to Arab banks and institutions.

  • Transfer, assimilation and adaptation of modern technology used in the banking, financial and managerial fields.
